Ffedog / Apron
- Accession no: B-1995/48
- Name: Ffedog / Apron
- Description: Gwisgwyd ffedogau addurnedig fel hyn yn y 19eg ganrif. Roedd rhai ohonynt yn rhan o wisg gyfan, er enghraifft gwisg briodas 1869 B-2321. Efallai mai'r ffedog yw'r unig eitem sydd wedi goroesi. Gwisgwyd hwy gan ferched dosbarth canol, i bwysleisio'r gwahaniaeth rhyngddynt a'u staff domestig oedd yn gwisgo ffedogau i arbed eu dillad rhag baw, ond ar yr un pryd yn atgyfnerthu bywyd cartref merched.
Decorative aprons like this were worn in the 19th century. Some of them were part of a whole costume, for example the 1869 wedding outfit B-2321. The apron could be the only part that survived. They were worn by middle class women, emphasising the difference to their domestic staff who wore aprons to protect their clothes from dirt, but at the same time reinforcing female domesticity. - Summary Description: Hufen; net cotwm; wedi ei ymylu gyda les; bib wedi ei grychu'n rhannol; clymau bychan byr ar gyfer y wasg, wedi ei ddal i fyny gan binau?; wedi ei addurno gyda rhubanau sidan pinc a choch.
